We’ve been in the spiritual battlefield of prayer and fasting these past 14 days. And only those who believe in Jesus Christ would have emerged as winners. This means that for the past 14 days we have been walking victoriously because we have waited on the Lord. Now, you can boldly say, you are an overcomer. This however does not apply to unbelievers. If you are yet to give your life to Christ, your living a victorious life is not guaranteed because you have not surrendered your life to Him.
I am sure we waited on the Lord for this past 14 days because we know Him and are sure of what He has purposed for us. So, we are victorious because of what God did for us on the cross of Calvary. Remove Jesus from your life; there will be crisis. Christ is our basis for living a victorious life. That’s why we waited on Him for the past 14 days because we know we are destined to be victorious.
Your confession shapes your destiny. It is what you confess to God’s hearing that He does. So, say to yourself; I am an overcomer. When you make these positive confessions, you are speaking life to yourself. Christ in you the hope of all glory. Christ in you gives you the assurance of victory. It is because we have Christ that we can come boldly before His presence. An unbeliever cannot and does not have that privilege. Christ in you gives you the expected end that is eternal life. Christ in you gives you peace, even when you are passing through challenges of life. That’s why the Psalmist says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” [Psalm 23: 4 KJV]; “I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” [Psalm 16: 8 KJV].
For the 14 days you have waited on the Lord, nothing may have changed in your physical appearance but something definitely has changed within you. Something has been deposited into your life. You cannot therefore remain on the same level. Let me also let you know that your 14 days of prayer and fasting has not changed God, because He is still the same yesterday, today and forever. But one thing it has done is that it has changed you. It has set you on the part of living a victorious life through Christ. Isaiah 40: 31 says, “ But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” [KJV]. Mathew 17: 21 says, “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting”[KJV]. That means the Lord has given you victory over every situation that represents “this kind” in your life. Your spiritual stamina has been renewed. It has drawn you closer to the Lord. It has built your faith and strength in the Lord because you have prayed to the God who answers prayers.
Now, after this 14 days fasting and prayer, what comes next? The question is, has the devil gone to sleep afterwards? The obvious answer is, No, the devil has not gone to sleep. In Job 1: 7, Satan answered the Lord’s question, “Whence comest thou?” Satan said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” This is to tell you that even after this prayer and fasting exercise, the devil will still be there roaming about. If the devil isn’t sleeping, you shouldn’t go to sleep either. So, to ensure your continuous victorious living through Christ what do you do?
